My dad is a cancer survivor! When first diagnosed, he was overweight and not very healthy; however, the dreaded six-letter word changed his outlook. Without going into detail, it quickly became very important that he take better care of himself as he “wanted to be here to see his grandchildren grow.”
Living five-hours apart makes it difficult for us to see each other, but when we do have a chance to get together, his first priority is always to take my daughter—sometimes us included—for a bike ride or a walk… Really anything that involves moving forward and being outdoors.
He’s been here visiting us this weekend and we’ve been having a fabulous time, which is why I haven’t posted anything in several days. I wanted to share this particular picture today because I feel it captures just one memory, that I’m sure, Lexi will never forget.
